While some said this was after accepting a dialog box indicating a new update was available, others said their UConnect automatically applied the update with no option to decline.
We will post here as soon as more information is available and apologize for the inconvenience.- UconnectCares February 12, 2018įrom most user reports, the UConnect issues first flared Friday with many stating that their radios began randomly rebooting, along with a loss of just about every other function displayed on the system’s center screen. Our Engineering teams are investigating the cause and working towards a resolution. That’s because the ‘update’ actually somehow tossed the vehicle’s UConnect system into an endless reboot, to the point where numerous owners have lost their radio, navigation, rear-view camera, as well as tons of other features pumped up by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles during the JL Wrangler ramp up.Ĭurrently FCA has not officially commented on the reports, but apparently has emailed dealerships that they are investigating the cause and not to replace radios from affected vehicles at this time.Īccording to the UConnect Cares Twitter feed, the company is aware of the issues and is working on a fix, but can't yet offer a solution timeline.Ĭertain 2017 & 2018 Uconnect systems may experience a reboot every 45-60 seconds.
FACTORY RESET UCONNECT JEEP CHEROKEE SOFTWARE
However, at the moment, it looks like the vehicle’s revamped UConnect system may not one of those things.Īt least, not for many who pushed through an over-the-air software update late last week. I’ll be contacting my local service department tomorrow, but after googling around to find a solution, I’m not confident Stellantis has a fix, since CarPlay issues are affecting 2020 vehicles and other versions of UConnect. If you are the proud new owner of a 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler, you definitely have plenty to be excited about every time you turn that key and drive. I contacted UConnect but they could only offer me a call back from a tech rep. But it happened again, without any cable use.Īnyone having any similar issues with Apple CarPlay in their GCL?Īny suggestions for a workaround that doesn’t involve losing all of our presets and profiles? I’m not really sure what causes it, at first I thought it was because my wife used the usb cable instead of wireless CarPlay. The CarPlay function completely disappears in UConnect. If I avoid a factory reset and just try to delete the connection (from both UConnect and our phones) and re-establish it, UConnect only sees our phones as music and calling capable. However the problem comes back in less than a day. So far my only work around is to do a factory reset from the UConnect menu.
They were working fine when we left the dealership in our GCL Summit, but by the next day, Carplay disappeared from the apps menu, and UConnect gets stuck “connecting” to the phone. Both, my iPhone X and my wife’s iPhone 12, are no longer able to use CarPlay after 2 days of ownership. I’m having frustrating issues with Apple CarPlay.
